Otter Co-op is Climate Smart!
Climate Smart Businesses Inc. is a Vancouver, British Columbia-based social enterprise that was launched by Ecotrust Canada , an enterprising nonprofit whose purpose is to build the conservation economy.
Incorporated in early spring 2009, Climate Smart has now trained more than 190 enterprises, engaged with twenty host partners, delivered our first training program outside of Canada (in Portland, OR), and has a growing network of trainers ready to lead Climate Smart training program in different locations in North America and beyond.
Otter Co-op has received its Climate Smart training and has completed the following:
- an updgrade to our Ladner Gas Bar Car Wash to a 98% efficiency hot water system.
- installation of GPS on all delivery trucks to identify more efficient travel routes.
- a new Preventative Maintenance contract on our HVAC units.
In addition, the following will be completed by year end.
- Ensuring all Shopping Centre lights are T8s.
- Implementation of a "Turn it Off" Campaign.
